Ensembles
& Flute Technique Classes:
(Read this article
about why group classes are so beneficial)
Ability
appropriate classes and ensembles are available
to all OPUS 111 Music Studio flutists! Students
may participate in an ensemble without being enrolled
in individual lessons at the discretion of the
instructor. Summer Technique classes are offered
for those students wanting a little "push"
in the scale & arpeggio department. These
classes often expose students to the IMEA music
as well. Students in the Intermediate I Class
and up are strongly encouraged to make these classes
a summer priority.

AUDITIONS:
*Auditions apply to those in the IVFE as this is the performance ensemble throughout the community. Anyone wishing to audition to move up may do so at the completion of the current session.
ATTENDANCE:
To be eligible to perform on the OPUS 111 Flute Studio recitals (December & May), students may not miss more than three (3) class meetings unless excused. (Band commitments, funeral and sickness are the exception). All sports conflicts will be considered unexcused. We understand that students are involved in many activities and hope that this policy does not deter anyone from participating but we must maintain the integrity of the ensemble as our first priority.
COLLEGE CREDIT:
Students who are 16 years old may enroll in flute lessons or flute choir for IVCC college credit. Please see Sue Gillio for details. (Preparing for college auditions)
New ensemble members are always welcome!
If you know someone who would enjoy playing flute with others,
please invite them to try it out.
