A great way to introduce youngsters to a primary instrument... the recorder! Note reading and rhythm games will be part of the 8-week curriculum. All new students will need to purchse Recorder Class materials - includes instrument. Details

Recorder Class

Rhythm Class
Classes give students from all studios (instrumental, piano and vocal) the opportunity to imporve and understand the basics of counting rhythm - the building blocks of music. Classes are limited to 10 per class on first-come basis. We encourage all "new to music" to participate in a beginning Rhythm Class prior to beginning your first music lessons. Details

FifeFife Class
Do you want to play the flute?… Arms aren’t long enough? …fingers a little too small? Have we got a class for you! 30-minute classes with a maximum of four (4) students per class. A fife & book will be supplied at the first class for a small fee.

Piano ClassPiano Class
Introduces students to the most basic and versatile of all the musical instruments ~ the piano. Ensemble playing for all levels. Use of modern digital equipment (midi) that further enhances all aspects of music ~ rhythm, tempo, listening, coordination… and confidence. Class length is 60 minutes and meets weekly.

Junior League SingersJunior League Singers & Voice Class
50 minute classes provide children age 6-13 with an opportunity to develop excellent vocal skills and explore a wide variety of “age-appropriate” vocal repertoire in a fun, stimulating environment. Students gain valuable experience and confidence through weekly rehearsals. Details

Double Reed Ensemble
... to supplement private lessons and allow students the experience of performing with other double reed players. Students will perform both original 16th C. double reed literature and arrangements of current popular music. In addition to performing, this class includes listening to recordings of international double reed soloists, beginning music theory and ear training.

Family Drumming Night
DjembeCome & explore the dense, rich sound of African drum. No experience necessary. Plenty of drums for all: djembe, ashiko, shekere & agogo bells too! Simple African rhythms will be taught in a way so everyone can participate... from the novice to the experienced player. Emphasis is on everyone's part being equally important to create the whole rhythmic groove.

Ages: kids age 6-14, parents & grandparents (no age limit)

The Art of Improvisation and Slow Comedy
In a trusted and safe atmosphere we will work on simple gaming techniques that focus on listening and responding in order to build the scene.  Learn the Who, What and Where of a scene.  Become more comfortable on stage!
